The No B.S. Guide to Freelance Writing, by Ian Chandler

In Chapter 1, You Are Your Brand, you’ll learn how to develop your unique identity and lay the foundation for your career. If you have no idea how to get started, this chapter will take you through the process of (literally) making a name for yourself.

In Chapters 2 and 3, Brass Tacks Pt. 1 and Pt. 2, you’ll learn how to create contracts, set up a rate, file invoices, and more. These are all the technical aspects of being a writer, and you’ll want to have these down before you get your first (or next) gig.

Chapters 4 through 6 will focus on how to get jobs and opportunities of all kinds. You’ll get tips on Breaking into the Market, which is more competitive than ever. You’ll learn about Finding Jobs in a cluttered, underpriced marketplace, and you’ll learn the basics of Networking and how it can take your career to the next level.

Chapter 7 is all about The Pitch. You’ll see successful and unsuccessful pitches analyzed and learn to recognize what makes them tick. Then, you’ll create your own.

Finally, in Chapter 8 you’ll start on a journey to Gaining Freedom with Writing. Making a living with writing isn’t as daunting as you might think. This chapter will discuss how to take it full-time and be successful with it.

All of this comes from both my personal experience writing and the experiences of other veteran writers. You get to learn all of this the easy way instead of the hard way. I’m giving you these tips so you can save precious time and money you might have otherwise wasted.

So, whether you are brand new to writing or you are looking to step it up, I hope this book will immediately become a useful resource that you will consult again and again.

Must Have for Up & Coming Writers
By Peggy A. Corino
This book is just what the writing doctor ordered for aspiring writers who want to break into the business of all things written. I just finished this book, and being an aspiring author, I am always searching for great reference guides on the subject of writing. Many times I see (or am told about) people who are in search of writers for their business but I never jumped at the opportunities told to me because I had no idea how to go about doing it. I have a successful business, but the writing world is a totally different animal; when I received an email offering this book for free I immediately downloaded it and now feel more confident and capable to reach out to those future writing jobs I see and hear about. Thank You, Ian Chandler, for such an easy read about this topic.

A Must Have Guide to Freelance Writing
By LISA HAWSEY
The No B.S. Guide to Freelance Writing is a quick, easy read that will be referenced often in the future. As a beginning freelance writer, this book has answered the many and varied questions I had. Ian Chandler understands the need to have this technical and specific information at the beginning of a career as opposed to muddling through on your own. He took his own recent experiences and explained the steps new freelance writers need even before we begin. Of course if you have already started your freelance career, the information provided is valuable to you as well due to the specific details and links Chandler has added. Do not hesitate to download this helpful book!

Indispensable Resource for Beginning Freelancers
By C. L. Smith
I read this succinct little book in less than an hour, and am so glad I did. Ian packs in a great deal of guidance, learned first hand from navigating the early stages of what promises to be his successful freelance career. Ian begins with helping readers discover and identify their voice and hone in on a specialty. He explains contracts and invoicing, and provides links to helpful resources. Learn the specifics of applying for writing jobs; how to set fair rates; and three effective ways to network. Ian closes with a summary of his journey to success and an encouraging call for aspiring freelance writers to find theirs. Great book!
